Doctoral study of Dental Medicine

Doctoral studies at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb have been conducted since the 2007/2008 academic year.

The program was launched after an international audit and in accordance with the criteria of the National Council for Higher Education and Science.
Program objectives

Development of scientific thinking and recognition of research questions.

Training in planning, conducting and critically analyzing research.

Acquiring skills in writing, publishing and presenting scientific results.

Contribution to the development of the profession and society through the application of new scientific knowledge.

Knowledge transfer to areas such as public health, clinical practice and the dental industry.
Structure and content of the study

The program is based on scientific projects with constant mentoring from recognized experts.

It encompasses the fields of biomedicine and health: basic and clinical dental sciences, and public health.
Method of delivery and ECTS distribution

Students first acquire basic methodological knowledge and then focus on specialized areas.

Since the academic year 2016/2017, the emphasis has been on scientific research:
