The School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb actively encourages scientific and research excellence and the participation of its teachers and researchers in national and international competitive projects. The School provides comprehensive institutional, infrastructural and administrative support to project applicants during the preparation, implementation and completion of project activities.
Institutional support
The School ensures that all projects are implemented in accordance with the applicable legislation of the Republic of Croatia, the rules of the University of Zagreb, and the recommendations and conditions of the funders (e.g. the Croatian Science Foundation, the European Commission and other relevant bodies). Project leaders are guaranteed independent management of the scientific content and financial resources of the project, in accordance with the approved work and financial plan.
Scientific infrastructure and equipment
Project applicants have access to the modern scientific and research infrastructure of the School of Dental Medicine, including specialized laboratories and capital scientific equipment. Research groups are provided with access to laboratories and the use of devices necessary for conducting experimental and analytical research in the field of dental medicine and related sciences.
The list of available scientific equipment is published here and in the CroRIS system, and includes devices for physicochemical and mechanical analysis of dental materials, testing of hard dental tissues, simulation of oral conditions, and other forms of laboratory testing.
Administrative, financial and technical support
During the implementation of projects, leaders and associates are provided with support from the School's professional services, including:
- accounting and financial support
- IT support
- technical and logistical support
The aforementioned services provide assistance in managing project funds, reporting to financiers, and ensuring the smooth running of project activities.
Involvement of researchers and students
The School encourages the involvement of doctoral candidates, postdoctoral fellows and students in scientific projects, in accordance with the project objectives and the rules of the funder. Participation in projects contributes to the development of research competencies, strengthening of scientific staff and international recognition of the School.
