Sonda is a student professional journal of the School of Dental Medicine, published twice a year. It was first published in 1999 under the title Stomatološka Sonda, and under the leadership of the then student, and today's professor Davor Illeš. Over the years, the journal has become one of the most recognizable and longest-running projects of our school. The journal publishes professional papers, teaching texts, and current news related to the academic life of teachers and students. The authors of all papers are students of the School of Dental Medicine in collaboration with teachers and numerous external collaborators, the number of whom grows with each new issue of Sonda.
To date, 49 issues of Sonda have been published. The editorial board consists of students, who create each issue entirely. Since dentistry as a science is advancing every day, Sonda tries to stay up to date with all the latest knowledge in the profession, which is why it has become an indispensable literature for students to study and pass exams more easily. The fact that Sonda's readers are also medical doctors speaks for its continuous growth and quality work, and Sonda can increasingly be found in dental offices in our neighboring countries. For its work, Sonda was awarded the Special Rector's Award in the academic year 2010/11, and in 2022/2023 for the implementation of the project Digitization of the student magazine Sonda.
