The Student Union is a student elected representative body established at the end of 1996. It represents students in the higher education system, with the aim of protecting the interests and rights of students at the School level, but also at the national and international levels, i.e. it strives to improve the quality of student life. The Student Union of the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb consists of 12 representatives - 10 students of integrated undergraduate and graduate studies and 2 students of postgraduate studies.
Representatives of the Student Union of the School of Dental Medicine are the main line of communication between school staff and students, as well as with other Student Unions of biomedical field constituents.
In addition to promoting student interests, the Student Union organizes the Freshmen's Party and other special events (such as the Christmas Party), coordinates sports activities (Humanijada), and is responsible for organizing and purchasing hoodies with the school logo and other similar materials.
The Humanijada sports competition brings together sports teams of students from the faculties of biomedical sciences. Depending on the interests of the students, the composition of the sports teams of the School of Dental Medicine changes from year to year. So far, they have participated in volleyball (m/f), basketball (m), handball (m), futsal (m), beach volleyball, tennis, table tennis, rowing on a rowing ergometer (m/f), a general knowledge quiz, and in individual sports such as cross-country, chess, and swimming (m/f).
At the Humanijada held in Umag in 2024, students of the School of Dental Medicine achieved outstanding results: they won gold in beach volleyball, handball, futsal, cross country and chess, silver in basketball, tennis, table tennis, general knowledge quiz and women's rowing, and bronze in men's rowing, as well as in men's and women's volleyball.
Also, at the beginning of the academic year, the Student Union provides support to the School in organizing its appearance at the Zagreb University Festival, assisting in the preparation and decoration of the school stand and ensuring the presence of students to inform visitors.
