The purpose of the course is to enable and provide student with practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of anesthesiology, resuscitation, local and general anesthesia.
Competencies and learning outcomes:
1. Distinguish between types of local anesthetics, doses and precise details (amide and ester local anesthetics, the most commonly used representatives from each group, their doses, metabolism and excretion)
2. Predict and recognize complications of local anesthesia (allergic reactions, anaphylactic shock, toxic reactions)
3. Identify and confirm cardiopulmonary arrest (causes of cardiopulmonary arrest, symptoms and signs of recognition, confirmation procedure)
4. Compose the sequence of cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures (basic and advanced life support, drug administration, routes of drug administration)
5. Classify types and degrees of patient sedation in dental medicine
