After the research is done, the points from the third point group achieved, the PhD Thesis written in accordance with the PhD programme regulations, evaluated and approved by the mentor, the access to the submission procedure of the completed Thesis starts. The submitted Thesis should be written according to the Instructions for PhD thesis preparation and proofread by a professor of Croatian or English.

SUBMISSION OF COMPLETED DOCTORAL THESIS FOR EVALUATION:

One printed unbound copy of the completed thesis and electronic version in pdf format sent to email: pds@sfzg.hr
Mentor's statement that the work is done in accordance with the Instructions
Authentification verification statement
Statement of the Croatian language proofreader/language editor
Statement of the English language proofreader/language editor

The submitted completed Doctoral Thesis undergoes a technical review of the Board for Postgraduate Studies in which compliance with the Instructions for the preparation of the thesis is evaluated, and Committee for evaluation of the completed Doctoral Thesis is proposed by the Board and confirmed by Faculty Council. The commission for evaluation of the completed Doctoral thesis is obliged to submit a written and signed report with its evaluation of the Doctoral thesis, then confirmed by the Faculty Council.

ESSENTIAL PREREQUISITE FOR DOCTORAL THESIS DEFENSE:

The candidate must collect 144 ECTS credits in extracurricular activities (III. Credit group) before the defense.

The table that must be filled in and submitted when submitting the doctoral thesis for evaluation can be downloaded HERE

It's necessary to submit:

list of all papers in:

WoS Science Citation Index Expanded (WoS SCIE) with quartile according to Journal Citation Reports (JCR));
other databases (WoS ESCI, Scopus, etc.) and a visible indication that the paper(s) resulted from the PhD research

papers in pdf format
proof of the poster/oral presentation at the conference
a validated certificate from an authorized library on the indexing of the journal and citation

The Faculty Council confirms the report on the Evaluation of the completed Doctoral Thesis and if positive, the candidate can publicly defend the Doctoral Thesis before the Committee no less than one week after the decision of the Faculty Council.

After defending the doctoral thesis, the Committee announces the student's success. The result of the defense can be:

the grade can be rite, cum laude, magna cum laude and summa cum laude

did not defend

The doctoral thesis is defended only once.
